For the past six years since the installation of Frazee preschool, our numbers and parent involvement have been growing. As a result, the Frazee Center has made an exciting decision.... beginning this August, we are going to turn our preschool into a free Montessori school!
The Montessori approach to education was developed through work with children in poverty and has had incredible success in the United States. The method meets the needs and speaks the language of the children we work with: education is hands-on, individualized to the child's needs and interests, and teaches abstract concepts of math and language in concrete ways so that the children can - literally! - grasp them. Character lessons such as work ethic, independence, respect, and order are embedded in the Montessori curriculum. Each material is specifically designed, placed, maintained, and used in a way that helps children internalize these vital lessons.
The Montessori format will enable us to triple preschool enrollment while employing the same number of staff! We will begin with 3 and 4 year olds in August 2016, and the following year we will add a kindergarten class.
Our question is always, "How do we fund our next big idea?" This year, The Blade Junior Golf Classic has once again selected Frazee to receive their event's charitable donation. The Blade is in its 18th year as the South Carolina Junior Golf Association's premier junior golf event. Over the last 17 years, the Blade has given nearly $1.2 million in donations to charity including $65,000 in both 2014 and 2015 for Frazee. We are very fortunate to be the recipient of this incredible donation again and will use the funds for our new Montessori program. We need your help in making this event a success! Come out on Sunday, July 10th ready to buy some spectacular items at the silent auction. We also welcome any donations for our silent auction.

Monday July 11 - Junior Am golf tournament at noon at Thornblade Club (see Jenny or Matt for corporate sponsorship availability) Tuesday and Wednesday July 12 and 13 - SCJGA golf tournament at Thornblade (come watch the best juniors in the state compete)
